Maybe the cocaine fairy left it in his car

You've probably seen it by now, but you can watch last night's Mansbridge interview with Helena Guergis here.

In it, a soft spoken and visibly shaken Guergis presents herself as being completely trusting of her husband and completely in the dark as to what's been going on and how cocaine found it's way into Jaffer's car.

  • Yeah... I found that slightly less than believable.

What I love to see is Cons squirming to avoid/blacklist/marinade/remove one of their precious own... Not just "one of their own", but one of their own from the inner circle of "Harp-love"... a "favorite" cabinet Minister... one of few women in the NeoCon caucus.

Great to see they got a "best hair" candidate to replace her in her Parliamentary desk...

  • The drug was found in his coat pocket,
after Jaffer was handcuffed and in the police crusier,
Stapelton went back to his car,
grabbed the jacket and presto...there it was.

  • Yes wilson - the cop planted the drugs on him. Even the cops are in on CBC's anti-conservative campaign.

    Anyway...

  • All Canadian men wish they could have a wife like Helena. She seems to believe everything her husband tells her without even thinking about it!

  • She was pretty clueless in that interview

  • I figured she was pretty clueless when I first found out she was dating Rahim Jaffer.

  • @Gayle: I haven't heard anyone make such an accusation.

But just because illegal substances are in someone's coat doesn't mean they are theirs, or that they were even aware of their presence. There are plenty of stories of coat checks being used as storage for drugs before delivery, for example, although again I have no idea if this is or isn't what happened in this case.
