"I've always wondered how government works — now maybe I'll find out."

Congratulations to Bill Blaikie for a much deserved win in his Manitoba by election!

  • Wow check out the numbers, that's a shit-kicker, although I wonder what Manitobans feel about Blaikie?

  • I don't think there's a person alive, no matter what political stripe, that doesn't respect Bill Blaikie.

Unfortunately for the NDP, they didn't pick him as party leader. What a huge mistake.

When watching, in the past, Blaikie on discussions on the political shows he never took cheap shots, never attacked anyone, but made very good points on issues.

Somehow, Layton feels that attacking Liberals (instead of the Cons) is going to save his bacon - how's it working so far?

Layton, you should study Mr. Blaikie.

  • I certainly have a lot more time for Bill Blaikie than I do for Jack Layton - it's hard not to respect the man.

Still, it's hard to say the NDP made the wrong choice, given the electoral success they've had since going with Jack...Could Blaikie have done better?

  • I agree with Anonymous, Blaikie was unlike other NDP (and other) politicians in that he focused on making his points rather than attacking or ridiculing others for theirs.
