I Called It!

Calgary Grit - one week ago:

What are Alberta PCs to do?

With
oil prices tumbling and no Liberal government to blame it on?

Ed Stelmach - yesterday: Pierre Trudeau, not the declining world economy, responsible for worsening financial crisis.

  • You gotta be kidding me...

How retarded are these people (and vengeful, and mis-directed, and angry about stuff that happened 40 years ago)? I like the part where a comment on DaveBerta's blog says something about the killer high interest rates "in Alberta" at that time (and somehow links that part of the worldwide economic slowdown on the Liberal government of Trudeau). It's precious when ALL of Canada had those rates (we were paying 20+% for a mortgage in Regina). I know people who lost homes in BC. It's precious, when Conservative ideologues (idiot-logues?) can continue to blame the PM of the day for that particular worldwide economic slowdown, and yet won't blame Harper for anything that is going on right now (including Harpa-Flaherty's liquidation of our national surpluses - on "need" items such as bigger planes, tax cuts for the rich and mega-rich, and a meaningless GST cut - when we all wanted an income tax cut).

What a bunch of rank amateurs. This is what happens when you brand everyone with a University degree an "ivory tower elitist". When you refuse to listen to your country's top economists and scientists. Ignorance breeds ignorance, and the Alberta-Reform variety is really breedin'... I refer to the title of the movie "Idiot Nation", and hope that we're not taken down the same "dumbed-down" road in politics up here (but the HarperCons are trying).

  • Clearly, the current financial crisis is DIRECTLY and ENTIRELY related to the Pacific Scandal of 1872. Alberta Liberal MLA's will never accept bribes like John A MacDonald and his crew of Conservatives did, which got Canada into this mess, and Albertans are still digging out of it 136 years later.

  • Even in a recession, that's rich.

  • If he keeps this up we might bust his seat count down into the 60s in 2012!
