Nomination Watch

Look who's back - former PM Cabmin and war hawk David Pratt is mulling over a high profile run against John Baird.

Here's the pundits guide breakdown of the riding for anyone curious - it was Baird by 9% in 2006.

UPDATE: Another former Liberal Cabinet Minister considers a run.

  • He oculdn't be much of a war hawk if he wants to run for Dion's Liberals, considering our position on Afghanistan. Can't we put those old fights behind us?

  • He'd be referring to Pratt's support for going to Iraq. I don't particularly care for Pratt or his policies.. but he'd still be an upgrade over John Baird. Best of luck to him.

  • I don't like either much.

I voted for Pratt when I lived in that riding and was quite pissed off when he came out against SSM.

It's interesting that a closeted mo like Baird is so high up in a party that would probably roll back all gay rights if given the chance.

  • Why doesn't Pratt take on the adult retard Pierre Poilivre who he allowed to beat him in 2004?

By Blogger Raymaker, at 9:34 p.m.

  • Maybe because Polievre toasted his Liberal opponent by 19,000 votes in the 2006 election.

I'm encouraged by Pratt's interest. The Liberals are tilting so far left lately. We used to be a big tent party. I'm half expecting someone to say that he shouldn't be allowed to seek the nomination unless he changes his views on SSM.

Don't forget ban abortions, give every student a handgun, legalize hatred, and revive slavery.

Good grief ... You Liberals need some new attack points.

As for Pratt ... meh. He's a lightweight that got destroyed by a punk kid. Rusty will make short work of him.

How new must the issue be exactly for you to consider it a valid concern?

The Conservative Party had "revisit SSM" in their most recent platform... oh you're right that's ancient history.

  • don't forget the CPC 'hidden agenda'
    CWB
    CBC
    SOW
    Kyoto
    arming border guards, park wardens
    parole 'anklets'
    arts grants
    gun registry

    go CPC!

  • art I think you forgot "non stop campaigning instead of running the country"... oh wait that's the completely visible agenda.

Keep up the cheerleading... there's obviously much to be proud of.

  • ...arming border guards...

How is the defense of our borders not a position of all parties? I'm a fairly liberal person, and I have no problem giving a trained border guard access to deadly force.

Imagine...next thing you know, we'll be arming prison guards!
