Don't get me started on this! I'd heard somewhere that Saskatchewan has a whack of undeveloped oil underneath them there farmer's fields and there really isn't much of an oil industry in the province. I love Saskatchewan but dammit, the word "change" seems to be the language or Mordor here....
By
Sean Cummings, at 8:44 a.m.
Uh, enough with the attacks on NDP. First, cheap shots in the brilliant Rhino party bit, now this.
We both know they are referring to TILMA, the stupid least common denominator regulations accord between BC and Alberta that they are trying to expand to other provinces. This is about bad laws rather than anything else.
By
leonsp, at 9:15 a.m.
When you're successful, others look at you and ask "why are they more successful than I am?"
The most likely answers are:
- They work harder
- They are smarter
- They make better choices
However, none of those feel particularly good. So instead, they conclude
- They are lucky
- They are cheating
- They are exploiting
Yeah, that must be it. How else could someone else be more successful?
Same thing here. Saskatchewan sees Alberta as more successful because we're lucky (to have oil), because we're exploiting the environment, and because we're not investing in culture, diversity, and all that jazz.
And you know the attack will work because anyone that doesn't have a problem with any of that has already moved to Alberta anyway.
By
Robert Vollman, at 9:56 a.m.
Leonsp, that's the _last_ thing I thought.
The common consensus in the province seems to be making jokes about the NDP not wanting prosperity or being debt-free . . . as CalGrit points out.
Cheers,
lance

It's weird because if this was the same old Sask Party, the last time the conservatives were in power, they added crown corporations and built a whack of hospitals all over the province.
By
Jordon Cooper, at 2:15 p.m.
Rich - No, Saskatchewan's not prepared to put more people on the street just to make a few rich, not to mention they have a small percentage of oil compared to Alberta.
Saskatchewan is just scared to be haven for right-wingers.
By
Wheatsheaf, at 3:17 p.m.
Uhhh wheatsheaf, didn't the Conservatives take all but two seats federally in SK in the last election (and all but one in 2004)? You Saskanians can be pretty down with the whole right wing thing. That is probably why the NDP government is desperate enough to run fairly lame attack ads (if Alberta was such a bad place, why to folks from SK keep moving there).
By
hosertohoosier, at 5:43 a.m.
The pre-election campaign is fully underway in Saskatchewan. This fall is going to be a really interesting time in Saskatchewan politics.

"Making Saskatchewan like Alberta? Like, rich?"
Noooooooo....
-Like making Saskatchewan citizens pay Health Premiums like Albertans pay!
-Like making Saskatchewan citizens pay HUGE auto insurance rates like Albertans
-Like making Saskatchewan residents pay HUGE natural gas bills like Albertans
.... and we don't like the Stampeders or Eskimos EITHER!!!
