The Politics of Achievement

As mentioned on Daveberta, Ralph Klein's latest budget is highlighted by a 45 million dollar subsidy for horse racing.

Hmm...premier who likes to gamble...subsidy for horse racing...is Ralph hoping for more comfortable seats at the track?

  • Gee that would pay off the current account deficits of all the Public and Catholic school boards in Alberta and leave some over for Ralphie to spend on VLTs.

  • What*s the fun of leadership if you can't dabble in the public*s money for a little personal preference. A few million is no problem with me. It goes to a legitimate industry and jobs.

Contrast that with 10 $BILLION drained off to who knows... and into private accounts.

10 $BILLION is the minimum baseline figure published nationally in a deluxe brochure by the NDP and they have not been sued by the Liberal Party of Canada for defamation.

    Must be true ..eh?

    Cheer up....Good news..

  • So let me get this straight. It's now ok for conservatives to applaud wasteful pork for personal interests because... the federal Liberals are BAD.

I guess principle and accountability really were just two pieces of clothing tailored for an election.

  • Well you see. Conservative graft and corruption is good while Liberal graft and corruption is bad.

    Get with the program Cerberus!!

The reason of course is Conservatives are holier than us lowly Liberals. That is what they say so it must be fact.

So when a Conservative shows a blatant lack of principle and accountability and the Liberals complain, Conservatives tell us to be quiet and say they can do stating "we are holier than thou".
