  • Couldn't come soon enough.

Although if the "prof" makes it in, Klein might seem like an NDP leader in comparison.

  • I'm of the opinion that the Harper win is very bad news for "the prof's" leadership campaign. Hard to run an anti-Ottawa campaign when it's a CPC government in Ottawa.

Taft must be dancing in his office. He can continue to do the hard work of rebuilding the party, while the ruling junta continues to bask in its own wonderfulness. Klein increasingly reminds me of Kurtz-- the tories are going to have to send someone it to "sanction with extreme prejudice" if they want to have a party left. And I tend to vote tory. Christ what an ass.

  • Whether Professor Morton succeeds Klein or not will have a huge impact on the Alberta Alliance. With the “prof” in, conservatives unhappy with the current government will return to the fold and any party to the right of the PCs will remain fringy. The Alberta Separatists and Social Credit types would have little incentive to jump into an Alberta Alliance tent when that tent has a marginal future anyway. But if the prof ends up out in the cold, his supporters might well sign up for Alliance memberships en masse. Morton might well cross the floor himself, which would not make the Alliance look any more moderate but might help it look less like a hick party.

  • Ted Morton extreme? Disagree with him all ya want, but to write him off as a crazy is to lose the election right away.
