    The next ambassador to the United States raised the stakes in the debate over missile defence program by saying Tuesday that Canada is already a part of the controversial program.

    Frank McKenna said that Canadian participation is such that he does not know what more could be asked by the United States, an argument that could remove the need for the minority Liberals to make a contentious decision on ballistic missile defence (BMD)

  • Indeed, it *is* completely unrelated. McKenna won't let Herle or any of those other idiots near him.

    He is a smart guy.

    As far as missile defence goes, the man stated a fact, "McKenna told reporters Canada was already a part of the U.S. National Missile Defense (NMD) ... through an amendment to the NORAD agreement made on August 5, 2004, which granted U.S. access to NORAD's missile warning systems explicitly for use in NMD." (Wikipedia)

    Just because Dithers balked at the program due to its unpopularity, does not change the fact that Canada did get engaged in helping the Americans get the system moving with the above. The difference? Dithers lies, McKenna tells the truth even if it is unpopular.

  • Remember the last Liberal leadership race, or non race... as it eventually became after the absolute jackboot,steam roller,rule fixing,membership form controlling,executive overthrowing, (insert your favourite tactic) ... "Martinites" engineered a virtual coronation.

    Well my fellow Liberals..just insert the name McKenna wherever Martin appears in your individual memory... same "Board", same style, the deal was done when McKenna agreed not to run last time.
