King Ralph
The media has had a fun time with Ralph Klein's prediction of a Liberal minority government. The general consensus is that this is bad news for Harper and that it may be part of the long simmering feud between the two men.
I'm not so sure. The more distance the CPC can get between Harper and Klein, the better off they are. So, if anything, this might actually be a good thing for Stephen Harper.
Of course, I did come across another one of Ralph's old predictions here:

Funny how Ralph is viewed as a bufoon by many elites in the media, but he becomes a sage forcaster when there is a tinge of tension between him and Mr. Harper.

A buffoon who has lead the most prosperous province in Canada through one of the most prosperous times in it's history.
He balanced the budget, lowered taxes, attracted big business to Alberta, and produced some of the largest majority governments in Canadian history. All his policies were closely mimicked across Canada, even Federally, shortly after his groundbreaking implementation. Remember the 'common sense' revolution?
If he's a buffoon, count me in.

Is that why every other province copied, nearly exactly, Kliens spending cuts, tax reforms, and government reduction?
I guess that says alot about the other premiers.

Anonymous, come back to reality.
An inanimate rod could have done as good if not a better job as premier of Alberta than Ralph.
It never ceases to amaze me when ever a person denies the real reason for Alberta's prosperity.
Do you really think the rest of Canada doesn't know?

If Alberta's spending had been maintained at pre-Klein levels, we'd still be in deficit.
I agree that he's just been coasting on the good economy since around 1997, though.
