Calling Gilles Duceppe

All eyes in Canada now turn to this man:

  • That's what is meant when we say that the level of political discourse has dropped in this country.

Even on blogs, apparently. But hey, you can't expect blogs to be held to a higher standard, can you?

  • Yes, what we need is more political discourse from people named "anonymous."

That's raising the bar, all right.

  • Excellent choice of pictures.

Just when we thought that politics in Canada might get boring again (after all, now that the RCMP have the tapes it will be all "no comment on ongoing investigations").

It will be interesting to see what happens.

  • Wonderdog:

People named "wonderdog" aren't exactly in a position to criticize people named "anonymous".

  • ... but people named wonderdog aren't purporting to raise the bar, are they?

I dunno. Hang on while I ask myself....

    Nope.

  • Nobody has commented on the impact this is going to have on the minority parliament if Duceppe jumps ship, so I will. Martin must be smiling from ear to ear today. Not only is that one less opposition vote he has to deal with (he can keep the seat vacant for quite some time), but he is getting rid of arguably the best of the opposition leaders. Yup, this is a good day to be PM.
